The 11th edition of PUZZLE places particular emphasis on the distribution of intelligence in the organization. Intelligence distribution represents one of the pillars of basic activity of Competitive Intelligence (CI) and more, a systematic process of unity. Within the scope of the circle of intelligence, the distribution or diffusion is positioned at the end, despite it represents the culmination of the CI projects.

The success of a good distribution comes from a previous study of the necessities required to get the information from customized form, as much for the decision maker as for the rest of the organization at corporative, departmental and even individual level. The diffusion can incorporate computer science tools that store and classify the information according to the strategic priorities of each user. The technologies of the information provide additional benefits thanks to the centralization of the process of the CI activity.

The articles of this edition treat these points and illustrate real experiences of organizations who have implemented a system of technological data processing and Competitive Intelligence through different platforms from distribution; Ferroatlántica R+D and "Vixía", a project of the CIS of Galicia. The case of Ferroatlántica shows the process to us of implementation of a system of technological monitoring that the company has followed to obtain a substantial improvement in the external knowledge of its department of I+D+I. At same time the CIS of Galicia helps us to understand that an external organization can contribute to the organization, the execution and the transmission of the company in a substantial way.

May-June 2004, Vol.3, No.11, pp.5-12
- The article introduces the Ferroatlántica R&D case, showing how a Technology Watch and Competitive Intelligence system is succeeded as a project perfectly set. Ferroatlántica is a ferroalloy enterprise and Ferroatlántica R&D has as the main purpose of developing and coordinating the group´s inquiry activity. The system´s most important objective is to dispose, in a constant manner, information any one may require at the moment, so to provide information which gives a support and base relative to R&D matters.

Vixía: Technological Watch system to support the R&D and Innovation, Rosa Freire Corzo
Vixía: sistema de Vigilancia Tecnológica de soporte a la I+D+I, Rosa Freire Corzo
May-June 2004, Vol.3, No.11, pp.13-19
- The article offers a detailled view over the “Vixía” project, a CI and TW system in which the biggest innovation point is the association between a CI and TW methodology in a technological platform built purposely. This kind of service set in innovation is helpful politics, so in the present case the CIS Galicia and the Conselleria de Innovación Industria e Comercio de la Xunta de Galicia shall be seen as a reference point. Also offered would be the fruitful experience of “Vixía” in a very typical enterprise of the galician textile sector and the usefulness of exporting this project to some other companies.
-

Observations on the lack of Method in searching for Information on the Internet, Pascal Frion
May-June 2004, Vol.3, No.11, pp.20-26
- Internet has been presented as a simple tool to explore information. It is not. Web users in general have little method. It is not unusual to confuse techniques and methods. From this widespread fact we can highlight the reasons why. We also can estimate the waste of time without method on the internet as well as the gain in time after a method-oriented training (and not a tool oriented training). The Acrie search plan is presented as a way to organize with method a search session in the internet.
